Stability and Permeability Changes of the Rock Mass in the Machine
Area, Example
For a tunnel heading using a shielded TBM the stability of the rock mass in the machine
area is of particular importance. As an example, a machine-driven tunnel located in
unleached Gypsum Keuper is investigated. The characteristic parameters of this forma-
tion are listed in Table 8.1 (see also Section 18.2).
