In-Depth Information
- circular, statically favorable cross-section of the shotcrete membrane,
- sealing of water-bearing discontinuities in the alternating sequence of claystone and
sandy limestone by advanced grouting.
By these means, the tunnel could be excavated with very small subsidence at the ground
surface. There was no interference with air traffic at any time.
Reasons for the success of the project were comprehensive site investigations and sta-
bility analyses as well as the experience gained from neighboring structures in similar
ground conditions over more than 30 years.
