6.4.1 Discrete Model
One way to establish a model of permeability and seepage flow in jointed rock is to
simulate each discontinuity in the rock mass with its aperture, roughness, filling and
persistence. Seepage flow is then treated as flow through a network of discontinuities.
To formulate seepage flow in a network of discontinuities, energy losses that are not due
to friction alone need to be considered. There are energy losses
