A systematic anchoring can increase the load-bearing capacity of the rock mass and
can lead to a reduction of the bending moments by reducing the span in the shotcrete
segments. However, the large radial displacements taking place before the supporting
ring can be closed require the selection of yielding anchors (Wittke et al. 2005). Since
