Trinity Grounds:
The grounds are enjoyable to explore. Inside the
Great Court,
the
clock (on the tower on the right) double-rings at the top of each hour. It's a college tradi-
tion to take off running from the clock when the high noon bells begin (it takes 43 seconds
to clang 24 times), race around the courtyard, touching each of the four corners without
setting foot on the cobbles, and try to return to the same spot before the ringing ends.
Supposedly only one student (a young lord) ever managed the feat—a scene featured in
Chariots of Fire
(but filmed elsewhere).
