with narrow frontage. Little wonder that a small fire could spread so quickly and become
the Great Fire of 1666.
The building flies the red-and-yellow flag of Spain's Catalan region, as it now houses
the Catalan tourist board.
The upper floor of the building is “Prince Henry's Room,” once an office for King
Charles I's son. It's likely closed—seemingly indefinitely—for restoration, but if it's
open, admire the elaborate plaster ceiling and stained glass, and check out any temporary
exhibitions (free, Mon-Fri 11:00-14:00, closed Sat-Sun, tel. 020/7332-1097,
