The final design of each of the graphics for the Contextual Design models was iterated with users in Vi-
sioning Sessions. After their early use we talked about what worked and didn't, where participants were
confused, and what models prompted the most design ideas. The structures of the models we present as a
standard part of Contextual Design have stood the test of successful use.

The Collaboration model is a graphical communication of the interactions of a workgroup or any set of
peopleworkingtogethertogetthingsdone.ItistheevolutionofContextualDesign'soriginalFlowmodel
designed for communication. We generally restrict use of the Flow model to large processes; the Collab-
oration model is more appropriate for most activities.
