In-Depth Information
What it is A fun house-style walk-through of scenes based on classic Universal horror films,
incorporating robotics, hydraulics, real people, smoke, and mirrors. Scope and scale Minor at-
traction. When to go Anytime. Special comments Not suitable for children age 10 and young-
er. Switching-off option provided. Probable waiting time 3-5 minutes.
DESCRIPTION AND COMMENTS This attraction is an extremely elaborate horror maze. It's
quite similar to the walk-through haunted houses you see around Halloween. Basically,
you walk in near darkness through the tight, winding corridors of Dracula's castle, occa-
sionally coming upon a large set from the Van Helsing vampire-killing film (including a
50-foot bridge overlooking Frankenstein's monster while he enjoys a little electroshock
therapy) or a more modern maniac such as Chucky or Leatherface. As you pick your way
through the dark, there are lots of gruesome sights, disorienting devices such as mirrors,
and worst of all, live people springing out of dark corners to startle you. If you don't like
being startled but really want to see the attraction, follow some teenage girls through. The
leaping, growling, menacing ghouls will expend lots of extra energy on the girls and be in
a state of relative depletion when you pass through.
TOURING TIPS House of Horrors is located very near the main entrance to the park. It doesn't
take long to tour (as the length of the experience depends on how badly you want out),
and it can be gotten out of the way quickly.
WaterWorld
What it is Arena show featuring simulated stunt-scene filming. Scope and scale Major attrac-
tion. When to go After experiencing all of the rides and the tram tour. Duration of show 15
minutes. Probable waiting time 15 minutes.
DESCRIPTION AND COMMENTS Drawn from the film WaterWorld, this outdoor theater
presentation features stunts and special effects performed on and around a small man-
made lagoon. The action involves various watercraft and, of course, a lot of explosions
and falling from high places into the water. Fast-paced and well adapted to the theater, the
production is in many ways more compelling than the film that inspired it.
