In-Depth Information
the theme park entrance that you can conveniently pop out of the park to grab a bite
(don't forget to have your hand stamped for reentry).
Universal Studios' ticket booths and turnstiles are about 100 yards from the main
parking garage. If you need cash, an ATM is outside and to the right of the main en-
trance. There is also an ATM inside the park next to the Cartooniversal store. Nearby
is a guest-services window. As you enter the park, be sure to pick up a park map and
a daily entertainment schedule.
THE UPPER LOT
THE UPPER LOT is essentially a large, amorphous pedestrian plaza. In-park signage
(which is inordinately confusing) references street names such as New York Street
and Baker Street and place names such as Cape Cod and Moulin Rouge, but on foot
these theme distinctions are largely lost and placement of buildings appears almost
random. In other words, do not expect the sort of thematic integrity that you find at
Disneyland.
Inside the main entrance, stroller and wheelchair rentals are on the right, as are
rental lockers. Straight ahead is a TV Audience Ticket Booth, where you can obtain
free tickets to join the audience for any TV shows that are taping during your visit
(subject to availability).
Attractions in the Upper Lot are situated around the perimeter of the plaza. Near
TheSimpsonsRide (straight ahead) aretheescalators andstairs that lead totheLower
Lot. The Upper Lot attractions are described in detail on the following pages.
THE LOWER LOT
THE LOWER LOT IS ACCESSIBLE ONLY via the escalators and stairs descending from the
back left section of the Upper Lot. Configured roughly in the shape of the letter T, the
Lower Lot is home to Transformers, Jurassic Park, and Revenge of the Mummy, all
headliner attractions at Universal Studios Hollywood. The Lower Lot attractions are
described beginning following the Upper Lot attractions.
