vacation while a major event is going on at the convention center. To help you avoid

Not necessarily so at Disneyland Resort, which, along with Six Flags Magic Moun-
tain, serves as an often-frequented recreational resource for the greater Los Angeles
and San Diego communities. To many Southern Californians, Disneyland Park and
DisneyCaliforniaAdventurearetheirprivatethemeparks.Yearlypassesareavailable
at less cost than a year's membership to the YMCA.
What all this means is that weekends are usually packed. Saturday is the busiest
day of the week. Sunday, particularly Sunday morning, is the best bet if you have to
go on a weekend, but it is also extremely busy.
During the summer, Monday and Friday are very busy, Tuesday and Wednesday
are usually less so, and Thursday is normally the slowest day of all. During the off-
season (September-May, holiday periods excepted), Thursday is usually the least
crowded day, followed by Tuesday.
In Florida, there are four Disney theme parks with a substantial daily variance in
attendance from park to park. At Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Park usually hosts
crowds 50% larger than those at Disney California Adventure, but because DCA is
smaller, crowd conditions are comparable. Expressed differently, the most crowded
and least crowded days are essentially the same for both Disneyland parks. However,
if you are ineligible for early admission (see below), we advise visiting the park that
does not offer early entry, as the other will be busy by the time ordinary guests arrive.
EARLY ENTRY
ANYONE WHO BUYS
in advance a three-or-more-day ticket with Magic Morning ad-
mission may enter Disneyland Park 1 hour before the park is opened to the general
public on one morning of their vacation. You can exercise your early-entry privilege
on Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday. Guests at the Paradise Pier, Grand Californian,
and Disneyland Hotels can also enter on any early-entry day, as long as they have
any valid ticket; this privilege is referred to as Extra Magic Hour. During this early-
entry hour, most of the Fantasyland attractions—along with Space Mountain, Finding
Nemo Submarine Voyage, Astro Orbitor, Buzz Lightyear, and Star Tours in Tomor-
rowland—will usually be open. The rest ofthe park'sattractions (and all Fastpass ma-
