In-Depth Information
Hungry Bear Restaurant
Selections A huge, one-third-pound chili cheeseburger topped with a fried onion ring (skip the
chili; it's pasty and bland), a fried green tomato sandwich with a side of jicama coleslaw
(some of the best greens in the park), and a fried chicken sandwich with honey mustard.
Healthier choices include a turkey and provolone sandwich on a multigrain roll and Big
Al's smoked chicken salad with lettuce, watermelon, candied pecans, dried cherries, and
pickled red onions with a sweet-tart honey-lime vinaigrette. Kids can feast on healthier
meals with string cheese, nonfat yogurt, sliced apples, and whole-grain fish crackers.
Comments The sweet potato fries are really tasty. Popular and crowded during busier times
of the year. During slower times, grab a snack and sit on the deck overlooking the Rivers
of America. We highly recommend the heirloom tomato sandwich (with Havarti and ré-
moulade on hearty whole grain) to lacto-ovo vegetarians and carnivores alike. The lemon
cupcakes and seasonal berry pie desserts are also really good.
Jolly Holiday Bakery
Selections Broccoli-cheese quiche; house salad with pecans and Feta; toasted cheese sandwich
with tomato soup; turkey, roast beef, tuna, or Caprese sandwich; grilled vegetable salad;
assorted pastries.
Comments The former annual pass processing center (originally Stouffer's Plaza Pavilion res-
taurant) is once again an eatery. Themed to Mary Poppins, with stained glass penguin
waiter windows, this is a good spot for a light breakfast or lunch, though lines can grow
long at peak mealtimes. Seating is outdoors only, and soup and quiche portions are small,
but the salads and sandwiches are substantial and savory. Don't miss the massive Matter-
horn coconut macaroons.
Market House
Selections Starbucks coffee drinks, pastries, and snacks.
Comments Disneyland ended the Market House's long tradition of house-blended brews and
free same-day refills when it invited Starbucks to take over this location in 2013. The ex-
panded coffee shop encompasses what was once the Disneyana shop, whose goods were
merged with the Disney Gallery. Look for a potbellied stove, checkerboard, and antique
telephones, all holdovers from the former decor.
