parade (selected locations) and two Fastpasses per person for use after the tour. The
tour is reasonably priced at $25.
A WALK IN WALT'S FOOTSTEPS This 3½-hour tour offers a historical perspective on
both Disneyland Park and the man who created it. It provides a lot of detail as it cov-
ers Disney's vision and the challenges in bringing the groundbreaking theme park to
life. The tour includes a light lunch. Highlights of the tour are an exclusive visit to the
interior of Walt's original private apartment above the Main Street firehouse (sadly,
no photos are allowed inside) and a glimpse of the lobby of Club 33, where Disney
was to entertain his friends and dignitaries. Unfortunately, he died 5 months before
the club was finished. Cost is $109 for all ages. (The tour is considered inappropriate
for younger children and those who can't walk on their own.)
VIP TOURS For the well-heeled, exclusive VIP tours are available for an eye-popping
$175 per hour for up to 10 guests ($295 during peak season) with a 6-hour minimum;
park admission is not included. VIP guides will arrange special parade and show seat-
ing, make dining reservations, and dispense Disneyland trivia, but they won't “back
door” you past the attractions queues, which limits their utility. If you want to add
unlimited expedited boarding at most attractions to your VIP tour, fork over an addi-
tional $100 per hour.
CULTIVATING THE MAGIC TOUR The latest addition to Disneyland's tour lineup is a
2-hour introduction to the resort's horticultural treasures, featuring an insider's peek
at the park's remarkable landscaping efforts. The tour is offered Saturday and Sunday
at 9 a.m. and Monday at 10 a.m.; the cost is $49 per guest and includes “select attrac-
tion experiences” and a souvenir pin and seed packet.
