Note that a Mini-AB socket is a dual-purpose socket that can accept either Mini-A or
Mini-B plugs. Likewise, a Micro-AB socket is a dual-purpose socket for either Micro-A
or Micro-B plugs. (There is no Micro-A socket.) The newer Mini and Micro plugs and
sockets have plastic portions inside the connectors that are required to be color coded, as
shown in
Table 14.3
