Brightening an image
The eyes no longer glow, but the image is a bit dark. In Photoshop, you can bright-
en an image in several different ways, as you've already seen. Choosing only from
adjustment layers, you can try modifying Brightness/Contrast, Levels, Curves, and
Exposure. Sometimes the best option is to try them all and see which one you like
best. That's easy to do with adjustment layers. But when you're really looking for
a quick fix, a Curves adjustment layer is a great way to go.
1. Click Curves in the Adjustments panel.
2. Click Auto to see what Photoshop applies. The image brightens.
3. Choose Lighter from the Preset menu. Photoshop applies some subtle
changes.
