Conclusion
Considering their long evolutionary and prehuman history on the continent,
crocodiles cannot convincingly be described as 'aliens' in Australia, and they have
seldom been so described in the historical literature. It is only on very short-term
human timescales that they could be described as 'invaders' intruding into 'places
