While not intending to overemphasize the inluence that grazing and pasture management may
have, in some cases that management may prevent turning a “creek” into a “crick” and may be the
focus of land management efforts, regulation, or litigation. Examples include numerous regulations
designed to protect riparian habitats and rangeland health. Additionally, restoration efforts may be
required to turn a “crick” back into a “creek” (see Chapter 8, e.g., livestock exclusion).
