alternatives include:
Using barriers (boulders, logs, etc.) that may inhibit the use of riparian zones.
Providing hardened crossings and water access at designated points using, for example,
coarse gravel pads on a gentle grade may help reduce erosion.
Locating bedding grounds and livestock handling facilities away from riparian zones.
