Basic AHU and parameters
ThemajorityoflargeACs/AHUsaregenerallyplacedonthelevelwherethey
are inserted, while fan coil units (FCUs) or heat pumps are generally placed
inaceilingvoid,althoughtheycanalsobeinaplantroom.Theplacementof
these units can depend on whether the unit is mounted on rails, a plinth, or
anti-vibration mounts and whether these mounting devices are part of the
AC/AHU family (see
Figure 10.5
).
