When you have a project that involves phases, some planning and
consideration can go a long way. Many companies are getting remodeling
projects that they have completed in the past using AutoCAD. Even though
those companies have moved to Revit, they still should ask themselves what
they would gain by doing the project in Revit. If you need to redraw the
existing project in Revit, and the demolition will be an ongoing process,
doing the job in AutoCAD may not be a bad idea after all. Whenever you
demolish a duct or a pipe, Revit produces a message that the element needs
to be disconnected, as shown in Figure 2.32 . Aside from the annoying fact
that you need to respond to this message every time you demolish an
element, those elements will become disconnected, and therefore making
any further changes to them is much more time-consuming.
