BY BUS
With the exception of the Coral Sun tourist coach, buses into Suva arrive at and depart from
the hectic Suva bus stand beside the municipal market in Suva North.
Express buses Express bus services to and from Nadi (Queens Rd) and Lautoka (Kings Rd)
are operated by Sunbeam Transport (6 daily each direction; F$15.70 to Nadi, 5hr; F$20.70 to
Lautoka, 6hr) and Pacific Transport ( 330 4366; 5 daily each direction; F$15.10 via Queens
Rd, 5hr). Alternatively, there's a comfortable tourist coach operated by Coral Sun (departs
Nadi Airport 7.30am & 1pm, departs Suva 7.30am & 4pm; F$22; 4hr), which arrives and de-
parts outside Holiday Inn Suva opposite the Old Parliament on Victoria Parade.

BY MINIVAN
Minivans congregate around Stinson Parade behind the cinema or, if heading north to
Nausori, behind the New World supermarket opposite the bus stand.
BY CAR
There are two main roads into Suva. From Nadi, the southern Queens Rd enters Suva via
Lami Town, passing industrial Walu Bay, turning right at the roundabout and past the bus
stand into the city centre. From Nausori, the Kings Rd heads through the congested suburbs
of Nine Miles, Nabua and Samabula before descending down Edinburgh Drive to the same
roundabout at Walu Bay (keep left for the city centre).
BY BOAT
Walu Bay Wharf All cargo boats and ferries dock at Walu Bay, west of the city centre. Pas-
senger ferries ply the waters between Suva, Ovalau, Savusavu, Labasa and Taveuni, and also
south to Kadavu, usually on a weekly run. Cargo boats serve the outer islands of Lau, Lo-
maiviti and Rotuma on an irregular monthly timetable - contact Fiji Shipping Corporation (
331 9383) for the latest schedule.
Kings Wharf The more central Kings Wharf, overlooking the Suva Municipal Market, wel-
comes in overseas cruise liners and container ships.
Ferry operators Consort Shipping ( 331 3266), Patterson Brothers ( 331 5644), Suilven
Shipping ( 331 8247) and Venu Shipping ( 339 5000).
