Kuata, Wayasewa and Waya
The three volcanic islands of

are the most striking of the Yas-
awa Islands and on a clear day can be seen from Nadi jutting out on the distant horizon. The
50km journey by boat from Port Denarau takes just under two hours.

nature sanctuary

its owners on adjacent Wayasewa. Pleasant
walking trails
meander around the oddly shaped
hills and rocky outcrops but, unless you're very lucky, you're unlikely to see any of the

ted iguanas
that hide in the forest trees. A deep ocean wall immediately off the island's west
coast has fantastic
scuba diving
, and there's an unusual figure-of-eight swim through pin-

Snorkelling is also very good here and there's a popular reef, reached by boat,
where you're likely to see quite a few reef sharks.
