busy, with just three small boutique beach resorts appealing mostly to the honeymoon mar-
ket. They are also a popular stop on overnight cruises .
ARRIVAL AND GETTING AROUND: THE MAMANUCAS
The bulk of visitors arrive on the fast catamarans running from Port Denarau at the southern
end of Nadi, although there are also water taxis and a dedicated service to Mana from Wail-
oaloa Beach . To make the most of fantastic sightseeing along the way you could also con-
sider transferring out to the islands by seaplane or helicopter. Once in the Mamanucas, all
resorts have speedboats for inter-island transfers , but these are expensive - the short 10min
hop between Malolo and Malolo Lailai, for example, will set you back F$90 one-way. It's
a lot cheaper catching one of the fast catamarans between the islands; South Sea Cruises
have the most frequent connections. Day-trips from Nadi are covered in the section Tours
and activities . See more information on visiting the Mamanucas as part of a longer Yasawas
cruise .
DAY-TRIPS FROM NADI
Those looking to save money on their accommodation might consider staying in Nadi -
where rooms are far more competitively priced - and visiting the islands on a series of day
cruises .
BY FAST CATAMARAN
The following companies all offer free hotel pick-ups and drop-offs in the Nadi area; some
resorts operate their own speedboat transfers and this will be arranged when you book. Note
that the Mamanuca-I-Cake Group lies beyond the fast catamaran route from Port Denarau,
although there are regular connections by smaller outboard boats.
