In-Depth Information
Tata's Curry Restaurant Nadi Back Road; map . Set at the back of the Nadi Temple, this
simple raised shack with tables and stools serves typical Fiji-Indian curries - not too hot,
quite oily and with meat on the bone. Most dishes are F$5-8, including dhal soup, goat curry
and roti, making this the best-value food in town. Mon-Sat 7.30am-9pm.

thin-crust pizzas (F$20) in Nadi. It's also a good spot for coffee and a cooked breakfast.
The bar usually creates a lively atmosphere in the evenings, especially at weekends. Daily
8am-10pm, bar closes 11pm.

DRINKING, NIGHTLIFE AND ENTERTAINMENT
For most tourists, Nadi's nightlife revolves around quiet resort bars , with happy hours usu-
ally running from 5.30pm to 6.30pm. To immerse yourself in the local after-hours culture you
have to head to either Martintar, popular with Nadi office workers, or the south end of Down-
town where pool bars, kava saloons and a couple of raucous nightclubs are the hangouts for
urban and rural Fijians. Apart from these two areas, and the resort enclaves of Denarau Is-
land and Wailoaloa Beach, Nadi after dark is pretty much a ghost town and roaming around
on your own isn't recommended. Traditional dance shows are held at several resorts and
are usually free to watch, with a blend of animated Fijian war mekes , elegant Polynesian-
style hula and enthralling Samoan fire dancing; some are combined with lovo buffet dinners.
Times may vary, so it's worth calling ahead. There's a multiplex cinema next to the Capri-
corn Hotel in Martintar.
