This chic café is a great place to treat yourself to coffee and cake as well as sumptuous lunch-
time meals. The grilled fish in a subtle lemon sauce (F$19.50) is divine. Mains from F$14.

Daikoku Corner of Queens Rd & Northern Press Rd, Martintar 670 3622; map . At-
tractive temple-style decor and fabulous Japanese food, with nine teppanyaki tables upstairs
where food is cooked in front of you and a sushi bar downstairs. Try the seafood combina-
tion (F$51.50), or Max chicken (F$40.50), a whole chicken cooked and served as five dis-
tinct dishes. Sashimi lovers will relish tuna, giant clam and red snapper, all caught locally.

LC's Restaurant Hillside Rd, Namaka 672 8181; map . Most reliable of the many Chinese
restaurants in Nadi and the locals' favourite, although it's a little hard to find, located upstairs
and behind the Morris Hedstrom supermarket in Namaka. Well-cooked Cantonese food and
good service; F$25 will get you two courses and drinks. Mon-Sat 11am-3pm & 6-10pm,
Sun 6-10pm.
Small Plates Restaurant and Bar Queens Rd, Martintar, opposite Capricorn Hotel 672
3888; map . Delightful little place in a garden setting serving tapas-style Chinese dishes with
a Fijian twist; each costs only F$6-8, so you can mix and match choices such as salt and pep-
per squid or stir fry. Well-priced imported beer and wine by the glass. Daily 11.30am-2pm &
6-10pm.
Tu's Queens Rd, Martintar 672 2110; map . Simple but colourful and engaging Fijian-
owned place where the big breakfast (F$22) and pancake stacks (F$19.50) will definitely
keep you going. The broad menu includes several Indonesian dishes and the best fish and
chips in town, with most mains from F$22. Daily 9am-9pm.
DOWNTOWN NADI
Bo Hai Seafood Restaurant Main St, above Naginda's Store 670 0178; map . Reliable
Chinese restaurant in a utilitarian Main St location that's very popular with locals, including
Chinese families. They serve dishes such as seafood wonton soup (F$10) and an intriguing
bêche-de-mer hotpot, with the odd samosa on the menu for good measure. Large round tables
make it good for groups. Daily noon-9pm.
Corner Café Back of Jack's Complex, Wavudra Rd 670 1233; map . If you're looking
for well-presented European food, this modern a/c restaurant is the best in town. The big
breakfast is filling, and the lunchtime menu has burgers or salads (F$13) and mains including
prawn curry (F$19) and pan-seared tuna (F$22), as well as fresh juices (F$7), good coffee
and home-made cakes. Mon-Sat 8am-4pm, Sun 8am-2.30pm.
