abandons the bass, which is taken up again by Jelly Roll Jim. So long as there's spam,
booze, rhythm and blues, who cares?
The finale includes a medley of “Every time Anybody Does Something Dumb An
Alaskan Does Something Dumber,” the “Russian River Red Salmon Widow” when Alice
does the reverse striptease (I'm not even going to attempt to describe it) and the “Orange
Blossom Special,” with Keys on the harmonica leading a train of cast and waiters through
the restaurant, slapping high fives with the audience. By the end of the show my hands are
numb from clapping.
For those of you from San Francisco, the Whale Fat Follies is Beach Blanket Babylon
on steroids. For everyone else, it's smart, it's funny, it's raunchy—it's just one hell of a
good time.
