laid to rest horizontally. Only faint traces of the original paint remain, but the teeth of the
brown bear snarl at you just as sharply as they must have when the pole was first erected.
Outside the center stands a thirty-foot Raven and Fog Woman totem pole, Nathan's
work, still bright in new paint, the wood hardly beginning to crack from standing outside
in all that Southeast rain.
