Creating Content
In this chapter, we will dive into one of the most important things that we need
to learn to use Confluence to its full potential: creating content. We will go over
the concepts of spaces, pages, and blog posts, to explain how to add content to
Confluence. Confluence's rich text editor has many features, and in this chapter
we will learn to master a large part of those features by creating our first pages.
We will learn about the following things in this chapter:
• Confluence basic concepts
• Adding spaces and pages
• The Confluence editor
• Creating engaging content
• Importing and exporting content
The basic concepts
Before we start creating content in Confluence, we need to have a basic
understanding of the concepts used within Confluence.
Spaces
To organize content in Confluence we use spaces, which come in two types.
A space is an area within Confluence, containing your pages. Spaces can be thought
of as a subsites or a containers, with their own page structure and home page.
Global spaces are areas that define your Confluence structure. For example,
you may want to separate areas based on team, department, or topic.
