In-Depth Information
Offshore installations in Europe are the fastest growing market. The first offshore wind
plant was commissioned in 99 near Vindeby, Denmark. The plant consisted of eleven 450-
kW turbines in two rows on concrete foundations in shallow water less than 0 m deep. By
the close of 2006, more than 925 MW had been installed offshore in seven countries: Den-
mark, Germany, Ireland, Japan, The Netherlands, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
