The Dry season begins in the Northern Territory: relief from humidity and
returning tourists. This is a great time to visit Uluru, before the tour buses
arrive in droves.

Whale Watching
Along the SA coast, migrating southern right and humpback whales come close to shore
to feed, breed and calf. The whales are here between May and October; see them at Vict-
or Harbor and west of Ceduna.
June
Winter begins: peak season in the tropical Top End and central deserts.
Waterfalls and outback tracks are accessible (accommodation prices less
so). Chilly across SA.
