Weather station
Weather parameters have become indispensible part of modern research,
particularly in the field of life science and agriculture. Because of
tremendous development associated with other advantages, nowadays,
automatic weather stations (AWS) are preferred over manual weather
station. Measurements on parameters can also be made from remote areas
through the use of these stations. Most automatic weather stations have
thermometer for measuring temperature, anemometer for measuring wind
speed, wind vane for measuring wind direction, hygrometer for measuring
humidity, and barometer for measuring atmospheric pressure. Some of
them even have ceilometer for measuring cloud height, rain gauge along
with data logger, rechargeable battery, and telemetry, and the
meteorological sensors with an attached solar panel or wind turbine are
mounted upon a mast. The specific configuration may vary due to the
purpose of the system. The system may report in near real time via the
Argos Systems and the Global Telecommunication System or save the data
for later recovery
