Let us start out with a more detailed physical description of an absorber
in order to understand how we might improve it. There are two main fac-
tors to consider: mass transfer and driving force. In the absorber, we
need to transfer the CO 2 from the gas phase into the liquid solvent. As
this transfer only takes place at the solvent-gas interfaces, it would
