Samples containing as much as 20 wt.% spent catalysts were extruded and fired between 700
and 1150
◦
C in air. The properties of the resultant material, such as firing shrinkage, water
absorption and mechanical strength, confirmed that bricks production may be a suitable outlet
for spent hydroprocessing catalysts.
