Kelly's Cellars, once a rebel hangout (see plaque above door), still has a very gritty
Irish feel. It's 300 years old and hard to find, but worth it. The pub grub is basic, but the at-
mosphere is delicious (Mon-Sat 11:30-24:30, Sun 13:00-23:30; live traditional music Tue-
Fri and Sun at 21:30, Sat at 16:30; 32 Bank Street, 100 yards behind Tesco supermarket,
access via alley on left side when facing Tesco, tel. 028/9024-6058).
Crown Liquor Saloon, a recommended stop along the Golden Mile, is small and an-
tique. Its mesmerizing mishmash of mosaics and shareable snugs (booths) is topped with
a smoky tin ceiling (Mon-Sat lunch only 11:30-15:00, Sun 12:30-16:00, 46 Great Victor-
ia Street, across from Hotel Europa, tel. 028/9024-3187). The Crown Dining Room up-
stairs offers dependable £10-15 meals (daily 12:00-21:00, tel. 028/9024-3187, use entry
on Amelia Street when the Crown Liquor Saloon is closed).
