Getting There: Beal na Blath is just off N-22, the road that runs west from Cork to
Macroom, and is easiest to find if you have a detailed Ordnance Survey atlas (it covers all
tiny rural lanes). About halfway between Cork and Macroom, take R-585 south off N-22
through the tiny village of Crookstown. From Crookstown, follow Beal na Blath signs
south for about a mile to the ambush site (well-marked, but be alert in case foliage on leafy
rural lanes obscures a sign at a crossroads).
