Accommodation Rates
The following price scale is used throughout the topic as a guide to rack
rates (published prices) charged for a standard room without meals for two
people per night during high season. All prices are given in US dollars.
In some cases, breakfast is included in the nightly rate. At other times, the
property offers only an all-inclusive package. This information is given as
part of the hotel description in each island chapter.

Getting Married
Aruba
On January 1, 2002, getting married on Aruba became far
easier than in the past. It is no longer necessary for either the
bride or groom to be an Aruban resident for at least six
months. Now brides and grooms over the age of 18 may apply
for a marriage license by presenting the following documents
to the Office of the Civil Registry on Aruba at least 14 days in advance of
their wedding day:
birth certificates for each person
a legal document proving divorce or death of a spouse if either
the bride or groom has been married before
a written request for a marriage license
If you won't be on the island at least 14 days before the wedding, it is proba-
bly safest to send your documents by courier service. You may also mail or

After the documents are verified, both the bride and groom must appear
before the registrar with two witnesses in order to pick up the marriage
