Accommodations
E ach island has a wide range of places to stay, so you won't
have a problem finding something to suit your taste and
budget. Hotels, especially on Aruba, go all out to attract pa-
trons with features such as fitness clubs, casinos, health
spas, constantly-irrigated gardens, and oversized swimming
pools. Some resorts offer all-inclusive packages that cover meals, drinks,
and activities. If you're looking for seclusion, you'll find it at smaller inns,
villas, apartments, or condominiums.
TIP: When you compare a room-only rate to an all-
inclusive rate, you must estimate the cost of inclu-
sions, then add that figure to the price of a room-
only rate or subtract it from an all-inclusive rate.
You will need an extra day of vacation after going
through this.
Rates drop around mid-April, and this is when families and budget-
minded travelers fill the hotels. Regardless of season, you can probably get
the best rates if you opt for a package deal, either through a tour operator
or from the resort itself.
Hotels add a five to 15% service charge and an 11% room tax to the bill.
Some also add an energy fee. Ask if the quoted rates include these charges
before you book accommodations.
