In-Depth Information
On Bonaire, music is so integrated into daily life that shoppers are treated
to a live show outside the island's largest supermarket every Saturday
morning, and many restaurants and clubs feature weekly live entertain-
ment by the island's most talented musicians.
Tipico Bonairiano has been entertaining audiences for more than 40
years with music played on a variety of unusual instruments, such as the
ukulele-like kuarta and the cheese-grater-like wiri. Newer arrivals on the
local music scene include Florida transplant soloist Ralph “Moogie”
Stewart , and the group Glen I Su Gang . Moogie is known for his original
funky-Caribbean songs, while the 12-member Gang draws a crowd with a
mix of charisma and rocking folk songs.
TIP: For information on where to catch perfor-
mances of local music celebrities, pick up a free copy

Nights at hotels and other tourist spots on the is-
lands.
