Dive Operators
Most dive shops are connected to resorts, hotels, or apartments. However,
it is not necessary to be a registered guest in order to book a dive trip. Look
for a shop near the area that you wish to explore to minimize the time it
takes to reach the site. Package deals are the best way to go if you plan to
spend a lot of time underwater. Take the time to call around for the best
prices on the combination of dives that fit your needs.
Rates run $35 for a single-tank boat dive and $60 for a two-tank boat dive.
Snorkelers can go along for about $20, including equipment. Guided shore
dives are in the $25 range. Many packages include unlimited air for shore
dives, a couple of boat dives per day, and perhaps a night dive. A 10% ser-
vice charge may be added to quoted prices, so ask before you sign up and
add an additional tip if necessary.
The Seaquarium offers a wide variety of diving and snorkeling activities.
You can also get a great view of the underwater creatures without getting
wet in the semi-submersible observatory. No certification is needed to join
a group on an “Anumal Encounter,” which is $34 for snorkelers and $54 for
divers. Get into the park and take a one-tank shore dive for $26. For reser-
vations and information on other activities, call the park,

The following centers are PADI certified, and instructors and guides speak
English as well as other languages (usually Dutch, German, Spanish, and
Papiamento). Other reputable shops operate on the island, so don't limit
yourself to those below when you plan your trip.
TIP: The Curaçao Diving Operators Association
(CDOA) has painted large rocks red and marked
them with a white stripe to designate the dive sites
that can be accessed from shore. The numbers and
names of each site correspond to those marked on
the Drive & Dive Map , available for $6 at most
dive shops and many retail stores and resorts.
