Champion windsurfers Patoen, Roger, and Elvis own and operate this
shop and teach beginning through advanced techniques. Children five and
older can sign up for a five-day clinic that was developed to train the
Bonaire Kids, a group that competes in - and often wins - international
events. The shop rents top-notch boards and sails and sells a variety of
watersports basics. The beach bar offers drinks and sandwiches, and is a
popular place for spectators as well as resting windsurfers. Open 10 am-
6 pm daily, with a beach BBQ at 7 pm on Wednesdays.
Boating
Harbour Village Marina manages the 40 visiting-yacht
moorings owned by the Bonaire Marine Park, and assigned
by them in advance by VHF. Arriving vessels must check in
at the arrival dock, clear Customs and Immigration, and
receive information on Marine Park regulations before pro-
ceeding to their designated mooring.
Each yacht is charged a mooring fee of $5.40 per night for vessels 60 feet
(18 meters) or shorter, the same as the hotel tax for land-based visitors.
The government now prohibits anchoring in Kralendijk Bay. The only
exceptions to this regulation are for boats under nine feet in length using a
stone anchor, and larger vessels with written advance authorization from
the harbor master.
International Sailing Regatta
Bonaire hosts an annual regatta for sailboats of all sizes, from micro-boats
to windsurfers to large yachts. For information about this year's event,

Day Sails & Charters
There's no better way to spend a day or a week than cruising the waters
around Bonaire and Klein Bonaire. If you don't have your own boat, join a
scheduled group outing or charter a private boat. The following companies
offer dinner cruises, half- and full-day snorkel tours, and long-distance
trips to Venezuela, CuraƧao and other islands. Snorkel/sightseeing sails
run about $45 per person, sunset cruises are in the $35 range and dinner
trips cost $75-$90 per person.
