Things are a bit quieter at the casual Centurion (

Aruba Grand Resort , but you'll still find some action at the slots and
game tables until around 2 am. Masquerade ( 297-586-4045), at the

Radisson , has a popular big-screen TV that shows sports events in the
bar. You'll find plenty of company there when a big game is being played.
Those who aren't interested in sports can enjoy the tables and slots in the
large domed playing area.

Casino Hours & Etiquette
Aruba's 11 casinos open between 10 am and noon for slot-machine
play, and late in the afternoon or early in the evening for game-
table play. Call each casino for hours of operation and a schedule
of entertainment; both may change seasonally. While dress is ca-
sual, most people wear resort-casual clothing to the casinos;
swimsuits, short shorts, and beach shoes are out of place.

Clubs & Bars
You'll find great entertainment and cozy bars at all the high-
rise resorts and many of the low-rise resorts. Trendy night
spots and vivacious dance clubs line the waterfront and
Mainstreet (Caya Betico Croes) in downtown Oranjestad. If
you decide against taking one of the party buses, cab into
town and bar hop along both roads. Friendly proprietors and locals wel-
come tourists and you'll feel right at home.
Don't make the mistake of thinking nightlife is dead when you pass
deserted clubs at 11 pm. Wait an hour. The crowds start showing up about
midnight; more pour in between 1 and 2 in the morning.
Hot spots change, but at publication, the following clubs and bars were the
most popular. If you want up-to-the-minute info on where to find the best
party, ask the young staff at your hotel or the restaurant waiters.

Club Time
Most bars open around noon and close at 2 am. Night-
clubs open about 10 pm, really get going by midnight,
and stay open until 3 am or when the last customer

bands and special events.
