the sweeping palm-studded beach and turquoise sea. Full kitchens, large
living/dining areas with sleeper sofas, and two bathrooms mean you can
spread out; the three-bedroom units have a mini-kitchen and an addi-
tional bathroom. The usual facilities and timeshare-type activities pro-
vide plenty to do, but many guests prefer to simply relax and enjoy the
resort's peaceful charm. On-site restaurants and bars are run by the same
restauranteurs who operate the Waterfront Crabhouse at Seaport Mar-
ketplace and La Gondola at Casa del Mar; the Alhambra Casino is next
door.

Honeymooners and romantics, listen up. This European-style boutique
resort is fabulously quixotic and intent on your happiness. You may even
request a private sunset dinner on the beach.
Suites have small kitchens. Kids are welcome, but not encouraged. If you
bring little ones, they probably will have to play with kids next door at
Costa Linda.

You'd never guess this small
hotel is part of the Best West-
ern chain. While it's not as
glitzy as some of its neighbors,
everything is clean and well
maintained. The resort is popu-
lar with Europeans, but catch-
ing on with North Americans
because the owners give guests
friendly attention, the beach is
fabulous, and rates are among
the best value on the island. Couples may get married in the on-site sea-
side chapel, then spend their honeymoon tucked into one of the water-view
rooms. The French Steakhouse serves marvelous meals, and some of
the best steaks on Aruba, and two other restaurants offer delicious variety.
The new outdoor spa features ocean-side service.
