looking into the three-tier architecture for the SAP Java applications.
SAP Three-Tier Architecture for Java Applications
SAP NW AS Java is based on the industry-standard three-tier architecture. The three tiers of
the architecture are the Presentation layer, the Application layer, and the Database layer.
Presentation Layer
The Presentation layer for Java-based SAP applications are accessed with a standard web
browser.
Figure 3-1
shows the NetWeaver portal access with the help of the browser URL
(http://<server name>:port number/irj/portal).
