Copy the Source Database Files and Control File to the Target Server Location
The
next step is to copy the database files (datafiles, logfiles, and control file) from the offline
backup location or from the source system directly using different copy methods, such as
FTP, Secure FTP, or Secure Copy, from one server to another. The following provides an ex-
ample of copying a control file and datafiles using the scp command:
Executing the following commands in the target system will copy the logfiles and data-
files recursively from the source to the target system:
After all the files are copied, delete the temp.data1 file. This will be created when the tar-
get system is started using the new control file.
Starting the Target Database
Log in to the target server as ora<sid> and issue the fol-
lowing commands to start the database:
