Specific Sizing Examples
This section will cover some specific SAP solution sizing examples. Sample sizing ques-
tionnaires and related information will be discussed as well. The SAP Quick Sizer tool siz-
ing tables/questionnaire are online, and there is no download option for the questionnaire.
However, SAP does provide offline questionnaires to its hardware partners. Customers can
also prepare a user-friendly version using the online questionnaire as an example. The fol-
lowing sections have some sample sizing questionnaires that can be used to build your own.
Once the questionnaires are ready, they can be shared with the business teams along with
the sizing online documentation.
ECC Sizing
Figure 24-6
shows a sample ECC sizing questionnaire. The sizing questionnaire has tables
for user sizing as well as throughput-based sizing. User sizing is based on concurrent user
counts for low-, medium-, and high-activity users in the systems. The throughput sizing is
based on the number of business documents that are created per each sizing element on a
yearly basis or based on peak load. The shorter the peak load times, the higher the CPU util-
ization of the system. If there is a business requirement for processing a peak volume of
business postings in narrower windows of time, then the SAPS value usually is quite high,
indicating the high CPU requirements necessary to support the system.
