SAPPFPAR Check
SAP profile parameter changes have to be done carefully. Incorrectly configured parameters
may cause the system not to start. SAP provides a command called SAPPFPAR that can be
called at the operating system level to verify the memory disposition of the SAP profiles
that have been changed recently. Apply the system-wide performance-tuning parameters in
the default profile and application server-specific performance parameters in the instance
profile. The parameters will be effective after the system restart. The syntax for using the
SAPPFPAR is as follows:
SAPPFPAR check pf=<path to the Instance Profile>
Effects of Outsourcing Projects and Performance Issues
In the last decade SAP development work has been outsourced to global teams. This trend
has resulted in code work being shipped to different development centers in the world and
assembled and quality-tested at the implementation site when all the pieces are ready. Be-
cause the code is developed by different teams distributed at different locations in the world,
it is very important for the quality control development lead at the implementation site to
perform a series of checks before the code goes to the production system. Often the code
