SAP provides transactions that monitor the different components of the dialog response
times and that can be used to isolate where the performance bottleneck is coming from and
address the underlying issue. This will be discussed further in subsequent sections of this
chapter. OSS Note 8963 provides more details on the different components of the response
times.
SAP Memory Management Concepts
The following definitions need to be understood when discussing the memory management
concepts for a SAP system. The different memory areas are shown in
Figure 22-1
