Database Administration Tasks Using BRGUI
BRGUI provides a more user-friendly graphical user interface, and can be used to effect-
ively administer a database. Figure 20-1 shows the initial menu option for BRGUI. This list
is the same one that would be displayed when calling BRTOOLS. The BRGUI list will call
the underlying BRTOOLS to execute a given database function.

Certain Oracle Database activities can be safely performed at the SQL level. One of these is
switching the archive log mode. The following sections provide the commands used to
toggle Oracle archiving modes in a SAP system.
