Configuration of Alert Monitoring from the Central Monitoring System
Once the CCMS agents are registered and started in the satellite systems, the next step is to
configure the central monitoring system to monitor for alerts from the satellite systems. The
following steps have to be configured in the central monitoring system to set this up.
1. Run background job SAP_CCMS_CENSYS_DISPATCHER in the central monitoring
system.
2. Run background job SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP in the central monitoring and
the satellite systems.
3. Create the CMSREG user using transaction RZ21 and selecting | Technical Infrastruc-
ture | Configure Central System | Create CMSREG User.
4. Create two RFC connections for the monitored satellite system: one for data analysis
and the other for data collection.
5. From RZ21 select | Technical Infrastructure | Configure Central System | Create
Remote Monitoring Entry | Choose Component Type (ABAP, Java, or Dual Stack).
Choose the SID and choose the two RFC connections.
6. Add the monitored system in RZ20.
