Spool Work Process
The spool work process helps in print formatting. More than one spool work process can be
configured so that if one spool work process is hung then the other one can process the
spool requests. The number of spool work processes on a given application server is con-
trolled by the rdisp/wp_no_spo parameter value entered in the instance profile.
Figure 14-8
shows the spool work processes in the work process overview screen.

Message Server and Message Server Monitor
There is only one message server, regardless of the number of application servers in a SAP
system. The message server process starts and runs at the operating system level and can be
checked by issuing the following command:
