Transport Logs and Return Codes
Transaction codes SE09 and SE10 can be used to check the transport logs. Enter one of
these transaction codes, and click the display individually icon ( F 5). Enter the transport re-
quest number in the request field, and press ENTER . In the next screen, the transport logs can
be seen by clicking the transport logs icon ( CTRL - SHIFT - F 2). You can drill down into the
logs for additional details by double-clicking or keep pressing F 5 to drill down up to four
levels. The transport return code of 0 means a transport is successful, 4 is a warning, and 8
indicates that an error has occurred that needs fixing. Table tplog keeps a log of all transport
activity and can be used to check which user performed a transport in the system.

• Change requests help keep track of data changes as packages, which are imported into
the target systems.
• The tp (Transports and Programs or Transport Control program) helps in coordinating
all export and import activities in the system.
• STMS (SAP Transport Management System) is a graphical tool used to move the
transports in the SAP landscape in an orderly fashion.
• Transport routes help direct transports to the correct target systems.
• Consolidation routes help move transports from the development system to a quality
assurance system.
• Delivery routes help move transports to a production system.
